(3) Letters of Reference
All prospective students must send three letters of reference. Reference letters should be sent directly to the School of Music. (4) Auditions
All students applying for Bachelor of Music programs must contact the School of Music to arrange an audition on a principal instrument or voice. Bachelor of Music Therapy applicants will undergo a separate audition procedure designed to assess your suitability for that program. Students interested in the Bachelor of Arts in Music degree need not audition unless you are interested in pursuing applied music lessons as part of your degree program.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
AUDITION DAY (5) Theory and Aural Skills Exam
All students must write an entrance theory and aural skills test.
If you do not pass the entrance exam in either Theory, or Aural Skills you may be given the option to study for the exam over the summer and retake it in the first week before classes begin. If you do not pass it this second time you will not be able to take the theory course until you do pass the exam. This may hinder your ability to complete the degree in the normally prescribed time frame.
If you understand everything on the sample exam, you should be adequately prepared to pass the entrance exam.
