Acadia School of Music's Concert & Lecture Series presents Alkali Collective
On Thursday, November 20, the Acadia School of Music's Concert & Lecture Series presents Creative Collaboration in Contemporary Music.
The Alkali Collective welcomes composer Paolo Griffin and percussionist Nathan Petitpas for a round-table presentation on collaboration in contemporary music. Through conversation, live demonstration, and Q&A, the ensemble will explore the many ways collaboration shapes artistic practice, from performer-composer partnerships to the creative process within chamber ensembles. This 45-minute presentation offers insight into the intersections of performance, composition, and collective artistry, while featuring a short performance excerpt from Griffin and Petitpas’s ongoing creative work. Students and community members alike are invited to engage with this discussion on the collaborative spirit of new music.
This presentation will begin at 1:00pm in the FESTIVAL THEATRE.
