Sisters on Screen Film Festival

On Friday, November 24, The Sisters on Screen Film Festival presents a screening of "A Star Is Born" - starring Bradley Cooper and Laga Gaga in the KCIC Auditorium.

Struggling singer Ally (Gaga) is discovered by former country star Jackson (Cooper), whose own career is on the decline.  As they begin a passionate relationship, Ally's career is launched into stardom.  But what will be the cost of her growing fame? "A Star Is Born" is rated "R" and is for mature audiences only.  It address topics of substance use and mental illness and suicide, contains scenes depicting sexuality/nudity, and has potentially offensive language.

The Sisters On Screen Film Festival is an educational film series dedicated to women in music!  Each film will begin with a pre-screening talk prepared by the students of MUSI 4283 (Women In Music).

Admission to the festival is by freewill donation.  Donations raised will go toward creating a scholarship to support a female student’s attendance at one of Acadia’s summer music programs. The movie plus presentation will be about 2 hours and 40 minutes in duration.
