Interests and Expertise:

  • Piano music by women and historically under-represented composers, musicians, and creators.
  • Composing and music creation. Combination of written, recorded, live performance.
  • Music composition and the performance of new music.
  • Solo piano performance.
  • Collaborative piano, coaching, and chamber music.

Community & Ensemble Involvement:

  • Currently involved with two solo performance/creation projects:
  • Solo piano recital music by women and historically under-represented composers.
  • Solo experimental looping piano project.
  • Connecting with students as people. Being able to explore all aspects of studying music with students, whether it be performing, theory, history, is something I find exciting every single day.
  • I teach at the Scotia Suzuki School of Music in Halifax and consider it another family. The sense of community is something that drew me to teaching there, and that same sense of community and connectedness through music is something I try to create in all of my teaching environments.

Fun facts:

  • I enjoy running for long distances (I've run 5 marathons and a whole bunch of half-marathons), gardening, being outside, traveling, baseball (go Red Sox!) and cooking!
