  • Music’s role in helping create and enrich community through musical facilitation and musical activism.
  • Musicianship and Small Group Collaborative Performance.

Community & Ensemble Involvement:

  • I am currently working on an original music and multi-media collaboration with musicians, visual artists, and dancers for world premiere in late 2026.
  • Developing a musical project with saxophonist Matthew Reiner in collaboration with the circus arts organization, Breaking Circus.
  • Music In Communities is a non-profit organization that does incredible work bringing music to various rural youth and under-served communities in the Valley region of Nova Scotia and beyond. We work together so Acadia students can experience using their talents to directly benefit local communities.
  • The Jane Paul Indigenous Women's Resource Centre in Sydney, CB, is a non-profit organization that I've partnered with for many years, with the second year musicianship class organizing a fundraiser for them and their impactful work, while their staff and guest speakers educate us on the importance of recognizing and addressing the challenges facing Indigenous women and girls today in Nova Scotia.

Fun Facts:

  • I love the community we create here at Acadia, collaborating with my fellow faculty members, and getting to witness the passionate and creative spirit of students as they challenge themselves to grow beyond their expectations!
  • I have a shy and ridiculously cute toy poodle named Nori.
