Acadia School of Music’s Concert & Lecture Series - Heather Fraser - Festival Theatre

On Thursday, January 29, the Acadia School of Music Concert & Lecture Series presents a “Superheroes Unite: Making Arts Advocacy Work for You” – a talk by Heather Fraser, Executive Director of the Nova Scotia Choral Federation.

We dedicate our professional lives to making music because we know it's a superpower - for beauty, for healthy communities, for social change. But silence is our kryptonite. Advocacy is now a vital and necessary part of what we do as musicians, artists and educators. But who has the time? Where to start? Why does it matter? Hear about how organizations at the local, provincial, and national level are advocating collectively, and the important role you play in this work. Get practical ideas and strategies you can use to effectively and proactively advocate for music and the arts in your community.

This event begins at 1:00pm in FESTIVAL THEATRE.

Concert & Lecture Series events are free and all are welcome to attend – please join us!
